SNEAK PEEK
I dragged a hand down my face as the door closed. Lex was back. And I still fucking loved her. Hell, I never stopped. When she came home to bury her father, I thought we were okay. I had been there for her in every way I could be. At least I thought I had. Replaying our time together, I still had no idea what I’d done wrong.

Then the morning she left, everything changed. She ended things between us. Something had happened, and she’d shut down… completely.

NEW RELEASE: On the Edge of Regret by Kate Squires, New Adult Romance

ON THE EDGE OF REGRET by Kate Squires is available for purchase!

New Adult Romance

Brix Kelley is a typical, small-town girl, who grew up with scraped knees and dirty fingernails. Nash Cooper was the defiant teen of the town, who’s been in trouble with the law, practically from birth. The two have been friends for longer than they can remember, and somewhere along the way, a flame ignited.

They were inseparable. Then, suddenly, when she was just 15 years old, Brix left town, leaving behind everyone she’s ever loved, in search of a fresh start. She cut off contact with all five of her closest, childhood friends, never intending to return. But, when a tragic event forces her to go back six years later, she’s hesitant and unsure of what kind of reception she’ll receive…especially from Nash.

Still tortured by the ghosts of his past, Brix finds Nash as rebellious as ever, but for the first time since they met, his anger is aimed at her. Just when it seems as though things might be looking up, secrets, which have been long held and deeply buried, begin to surface, throwing them both into a tailspin.

With all the outside forces meant to keep them apart, can they find their way back? Was the love they shared as teens strong enough to bond them again as adults, or will the secrets from the past cause irreparable damage?

EXCERPT:
The corner of his mouth twitches ever so slightly, as he takes a step closer to me.

“Have you told him you love him?” he says, taking another step. My heart beats wildly, as I look anywhere but at him. He steps closer again, until he's just inches away. “Have you?” I turn my head, but his hand touches my chin, steering it back to center. “Brix.” His voice is soft, seductive, and I’m not sure how much longer I can take being this close to him. “Look at me and tell me.” I finally find the courage to look at him, and it’s as if his eyes pierce through to my soul. “Have you told him you love him?” I open my mouth to speak, but I can't say the words. He sees my hesitation and goes in for the kill. With his hand still on my chin, he lets it slide around to the side of my neck. His fingers easily glide into my hair, and his thumb rubs gently back and forth against my cheek. “I need to know,” he says, just above a whisper. I close my eyes, my lips part fractionally, and my heart is about to leap from my chest. I can feel his warm breath against my cheek, as his lips graze my ear. “Yes or no, Brix?” A sharp intake of breath fills my lungs, before I exhale in desperation.

“No,” I say, and it’s as if I've just confessed every sin I’ve ever committed. The relief is profound, but now I know I've opened up an enormous gate. I feel him smile against my cheek and hear his satisfaction as he hums his exhale.

“Good. I can work with that.”

I’m the jokester, the one who pulls the best pranks. I’m the guy in the house who the frat brothers avoid for fear of what they’ll wake up to face the next day.

But now, the jokes on me. Literally on me! In BIG. BOLD. BLACK LETTERS!

A tattoo, of another guy’s name. I was branded, and no one else can know.

The problem is I don't know how it got there? Who the hell is Blake? Worst of all why the F*ck did I have a guy’s name tattooed on my wrist to begin with? What could have possessed me?

I’ve done a lot of things, tortured a lot of my brothers, and I’ve loved every single minute of it.

I guess it’s payback.

The only things I remember are…dark hair, smelling of sweet honey and maybe something floral, soft hands, and the sweetest laugh.

So tell me, how I can get from a memory like that, to waking up in the backyard beside the pool, with a F*ucking tattoo? Of a dude’s name?

EXCERPT:
Ever had this feeling like you’re being watched? Like each move you make is being analyzed, dissected, and documented for later use?

No?

Well, I have. It was a lingering feeling ever since the moment I’d been challenged by Clayton. Everywhere I turned there he was.

The guy was a god damned freak, watching me out of the corner of his eye, silently observing. It was annoying and if the asshole expected me to get a buzz he’d need to quit killing the effects of the tequila. With each shot his beady little eyes became an instant sober alert.

“Why are you watching the twin so closely?”

I looked down to my left into the curious eyes of Xavier’s girl, Morgan. It was part of being so much taller than everyone else, and it didn’t help that she was a short little thing either. “The twin?” I asked with a smirk.

“Yeah,” she shrugged, “I still have no clue how to tell which one is which.”

“Corbin has a freckle on his upper —”

She holds up her hand to stop me. “Truly, I don’t care. I’ll still call them twin one and two.” Did I mention she was a sassy little shit too?

I wrapped my arm around her shoulder, fully expecting her to gut punch me as I dragged her toward her boy. Xavier saw us coming and immediately stepped away from the group of people he was talking to in order to pull her away and out of my hold.

I chuckled, knowing just how much he hated for any of us to touch her, even if it was only the simplest of ways. Most of us did it often just to irritate the piss out of him.

“Occupy your girl, she’s getting nosy.”

I turned to walk away, feeling something collide with the back of my head. I looked back just in time to see an empty plastic water bottle bounce along the floor before rolling to a stop only a few inches away from Morgan’s feet.

X chuckled as Morgan crossed her arms, challenging me in what I could only assume was some form of some girly stand - off. She’d been around for some time now and was beginning to act like her man. “I’m not nosy.”

“What do you call it then?”

“Curious.”

“Same thing, and shit like that gets people thrown in pools.”

“Are you threatening me?” She uncrossed her arms and placed them on her hips.

I was just about to take a chance of being pummeled by my brother for throwing his crazy ass girl in the pool when I noticed another girl step closer to Morgan’s side. It was the brunette from Porter’s Pizza. The same brunette I’d seen in the place almost every time I visited, yet still didn’t know her name. I had seen her often, and fuck, the girl made me weak in the knees; that shit never happened to me.

I did, however, enjoy observing her from afar. I knew this — I’d consumed more pizza over the last few weeks than I had in the last few years combined. I also knew the way her cheeks reddened when a man openly flirted with her; I had done that a hundred times it seemed but still hadn’t been formally introduced.

I was intrigued by her, mesmerized even.

I was feeling a little free tonight though so that might change.

I watched as she continued looking between Morgan and me, and the last thing I wanted was for her to witness the pool dunk and think I was some dick. So instead I looked back toward Morgan and answered her question from earlier. “Clayton,” I say, pointing toward the beady - eyed fucker who was still watching me, “thinks he can outdo me. He’s the Sober Brother tonight and apparently, he thinks that he can pull the mother of all pranks.”

“So, he’s planning on coming up with something bigger than permanent marker dicks on someone’s face, nipple piercings, naked twins on front porches, and blue dye in body wash?” She holds up her hands, counting off each item she named on her fingers.

“The blue dye was me, babe,” Xavier corrected her and she waved him off.

“Yeah, that’s the plan.”

She looks behind her toward Clayton and he nods in agreement. “Well, this party may be worth staying at until the end just to see you suffer, Red. Payback is a bitch and these guys have a whole lot to give back.”

That they did, but I wasn’t worried.

“You actually pierced someone’s nipples?” The brunette asked that question as she wrinkled up her nose in confusion.

“Yep,” Xavier announced before I could and grabbed the hem of his shirt to lift it and exposed the piercings he still wore. That was a prank that backfired; who knew the guy would have loved them? It was almost the same situation I had with my Prince Albert when I let my best friend convince me to get it done after our high school graduation. It turned out to be one of the craziest and most pleasurable things I had done, or so I’d been told. It was a secret I’d managed to keep hidden so far.

“You did that?” I watch as the girl observed Xavier and suddenly I wanted to grab the shirt he still held high and pull it down.

“I did,” I said, regaining her attention. “Why? You want yours done?”

I forced her to include me into her bubble and now I was popping it because it was the right thing to do. Why couldn’t I just explain it to her? I could trust her—I know I could. STAY IS NOW LIVE!

STAY by Jamie Lee
A Fighting Chance Novel Book 2

A chance meeting.
One immediate reaction.
Two unforgettable nights.
A connection that cannot be forged or forgotten.

Tess
Cedric was unforgivingly gorgeous and recklessly magnetic. From the moment we met, I was drawn to him without explanation, needed him without apology.

They say timing is everything. I’ve learned that sometimes, “time” can steamroll all over your innocent-bystander heart, leaving you confused, uncertain, and full of unanswered questions. That’s what it felt like the night Cedric left—disappeared without reason or a promise to return.

Now, after months away, he’s back and timing is, once again, a huge slap in the face. Especially when his reason for leaving followed him home.

His past meets his present and we’re forced to figure out what that means for us.

We could have it all.

If only he would STAY.

Cedric
Tess was like no other—beautifully vibrant and relentlessly tempting. One taste wasn’t enough.
Two only made me want her more. But my life was no longer my own. It belonged to another and I had no choice but to leave.

Twice.

But now I’m back, and what I want and what I can have are two completely separate things.

They say timing is everything. I say circumstance trumps all.

We have the chance for something great, something one of a kind.

If only I could STAY.

STAY is Book 2 in the A Fighting Chance series but can be read as a stand-alone. You can meet Tess and Cedric in Book 1 – Runaway Love.

HEAT by CA Harms #BookTour

HEAT by CA Harms
Series: Montgomery Men #2 (Standalone)
Genre: Contemporary Romance
— SYNOPSIS —
Beckett Montgomery is a well-known detective in the New York area. He takes his job seriously and has little time for anything else.

But when he’s called to Shanelle Kramer’s apartment after she’s frightened by an intruder in the middle of the night, he finds himself getting a little too involved. He can’t seem to let go of the image of the beautiful, scared blonde sitting at the end of her couch in those tiny shorts and that even tinier tank top.

It was his job to keep her safe. His job to find the man stalking her.

But Beckett is finding it next to impossible to keep this case strictly professional.

Maybe just one taste would end his addiction for Shanelle.

But one taste was just a tease….

He needed more.

Because the Heat between them was just too hot to resist.

— EXCERPT
The moment she lifted her gaze, I swear I felt the floor shift beneath my feet and my stomach grew weak momentarily.

It was her, the woman from the club that night. The one I’d thought of often ever since she walked away from me that night and though I barely knew her I swear I felt the loss.

She looked so confident then, but now she looked so delicate and frail. The scared look in her eyes made my stomach feel hollow. It was a strange feeling, really. Over the years on the job, I’ve looked into the eyes of a terrified woman so many times. I’ve listened to them explain their fears and describe the terror they lived through, and watched them break in front of me. But I’ve never felt the kind of things I did now.

I wanted to find the asshole that had placed her in this state and strangle the life out of him.

“It’s you,” she whispered. I was surprised she recognized me in her current state of mind. Our initial meeting was so brief it probably couldn’t even be called an introduction. “Beckett,” she whispered, and I took a seat before her. “Right?” I nodded and ignored the curious looks of those around us. “Yes,” I replied as she continued to stare at me. “Beckett’s right. Detective Montgomery, actually,” I clarified and her eyes widened just a bit.

Her lip trembled even though I could tell she was attempting to appear strong. I wanted to take her into my arms and hold her close. I wanted to whisper that she was safe now, but I refrained. Fuck, I had never had this type of battle when it came to my job. Putting my emotions aside had never been a problem until now.

“There was someone here,” she said, staring me in the eyes with a look of determination. “I saw him. He just stood there in the doorway watching me. And I was so scared to move because I had no idea what he wanted. I wanted him to leave, but he stood there, watching and waiting, I don't even know for what.” She took in a deep breath. “I’ve never felt that kind of fear before.”

I allowed her a few moments to just breathe before I began my own series of questions, doing my best to sound supportive and genuine.

“I know it was dark, but was there anything about him you recognized?” She shook her head. “Could you tell if he had short hair, long hair?”

“He wore a hat. A baseball cap,” she clarified.

“Did he say anything? Do anything that you remember?”

She shook her head again.

“Did he turn in the doorway, was there any lighting illuminating the room that gave you the chance to see his side profile?” Another shake of her head left us with no answers. Tears rolled along her cheeks, and my chest ached. “It’s okay,” I assured her as I placed my hand on her forearm. “I’m gonna take a look around,” I said as I began to stand, and panic took over her features.

There was something greatly satisfying about the fact that she didn't like the idea of me leaving her. “Just a quick scan,” I assured her as I stood. “I’m not leaving. I promise you, you’re safe with me.”

She gave a quick nod before she wrapped her arms around herself and sank back into the couch, as if she were attempting to hide from this evening’s events.

As I moved from her living room to her bedroom, I looked for any clue that may help us solve this puzzle. Each time I looked to her, she was watching me, and that satisfied feeling returned again.

I’d never wanted to be any woman’s savior. I just woke up every day and fought the bad guys because I fucking loved the rush.

But tonight felt different. Knowing that she was looking at me as her hero felt deeply gratifying.

I wanted to be the one to saved her. I wanted to take down the man who’d terrorized her and give her back her freedom. And damn if I didn't want her to keep looking at me just like she was now.

Like I was her hero.

— ABOUT THE AUTHOR: CA HARMS —
A little about me. Let’s see where to start.

I love HEA stories, as long as they come packing a little heat. I need some excitement, some angst, and moments that make me fan my face are always good too. I am an Illinois girl, born and raised. Simple and true, it honestly doesn’t take much to make me happy. I love the little things; they truly mean the most. I may have a slight addiction to my new Keurig—oh my, that thing is a godsend. And so fast too. I have two children who truly are my very best friends, and their faces never fail to put a smile on my face. I have been married to my husband for sixteen years, and even though at times I want to beat him with a stick, I would never change the years we have had. We have learned and fallen, only to pick each other up, dust off the ache, and help each other make it right.

I am one of those authors that adore my fans. I love to hear from you. After all, it is because of each one of you that I continue to write. I look forward to your feedback.

Be sure to follow me to stay up-to-date on all my upcoming releases.
